Throughout the year Help America Hear hosts many events, here are a few coming up.
Visit our events page for more information.
Our mission is to provide hearing aids through an application process to qualifying individuals with limited financial resources who cannot obtain them on their own, as well as a scholarship to help fund the educational opportunities of those with auditory impairments.
Our causes aim to help those in need - care to help?
Every year we offer a scholarship to high school seniors that are hearing impaired so that they may improve their college experience. This year you can make a difference by helping to give the gift of a good college education. Each recipient receives a $1000 award as well as a brand new set of ReSound …
We love hearing from our hearing aid recipients about how the hearing aids are changing their lives! Read some stories below.
I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system
“I received my hearing aids recently. What a blessing! They are wonderful. It has opened up a whole new world. I can hear my doctor now. I hated so much having to ask him to repeat. I don’t have the words to adequately thank you just I know god blessed me through your foundation. Please know that the gift of sound you gave me is received with love for you.”
“I am so pleased with my new hearing aids thanks to Help America Hear. Now I can live a normal life again, enjoying the things I’ve been avoiding. It is so wonderful. This is truly a gift of caring for those that don’t have the means to help themselves. I can’t thank you enough.”
“I would like to express my gratitude and great appreciation to the foundation for making it possible to receive the wonderful hearing aids. It definitely has changed my life for the better. I have had problems understanding most conversations clearly. I am now able to interact in normal social situations with my family/friends and especially my grandchildren. I had become reclusive because of my hearing loss and the fear of misunderstanding.”
“Thank you for your kindness. Thanks to you I can now hear and I am so blessed. I now can hear my little grandchildren laugh and call my name. God bless you and your company. You are all a god send, we would never have been able to afford a hearing aid otherwise.”
“Just a short note of THANK YOU on behalf of my Uncle Garnet. You were a big help to him in getting his hearing aids. He recently had been admitted to a nursing home and was unable to provide these himself, he had been without hearing aids for about 4 months. The first time that we put them on, his first request was to turn down the television that was behind him. Taking him back to his room, staff members would speak to him in a loud voice as they had been for the last several months and he would say to them ‘I can hear you now so you can talk normally’ with a BIG smile on his face.”
“Just a short note to first say THANK YOU for the hearing aids. What a difference they make. I feel like I have my life back and they are helping me be more involved in the many meetings I attend. I can again be part of the dialogue. I also most compliment Dr. Stevens for her work and obvious dedication to what she does. She’s awesome as they say these days. Thanks again for your assistance and support.”
Another person to whom Help America Hear has provided hearing aids. Here is what she has to say: ``I am writing to express my thanks for your help in seeing that I was provided with hearing aids. Without them I would be unable to comprehend the full intent of a lecture, a symphony or a group conversation. As importantly I no longer have to ask certain individuals to repeat most every one of their utterances! I have provided information on your service to friends with the same problem and will continue to do so. `` Sincerely, Margaret B.
“I took Phyllis to Quality Hearing last Thursday to get her hearing aid. The people who work at Quality Hearing are wonderful, they are all so nice and incredibly understanding and helpful.” “As I told you on the phone, Phyllis is like a new person now that she can hear. I just cannot thank you enough for giving Phyllis the ability to hear, she is thankful, as well as everyone who comes in contact with her. Besides being thankful she is adjusting nicely to using the hearing aid.”
