Help America Hear Program
Providing Prescription Hearing Aids for Those in Need Nationwide
Help America Hear Program
Bringing the Gift of Sound to Those in Need
At Help America Hear, we believe no one should live in silence because of financial hardship. Through the Help America Hear Program, we provide brand new, high quality prescription hearing aids to men, women, and children across the country who otherwise could not afford them.
This program is intended as a last resort for individuals and families who have exhausted all other financial options. Before applying, applicants are asked to explore every available resource, including personal savings, family assistance, credit options, investment funds, retirement accounts, and any applicable state sponsored programs.
Our mission is made possible through the generosity of hearing healthcare professionals, manufacturers, corporate sponsors, and private donors who donate their time, expertise, and resources to help restore the gift of hearing.
If approved to receive state of the art prescription hearing aids from Help America Hear and GN ReSound, a refundable deposit of $250 is required. If the hearing provider fitting your hearing aids charges a fitting fee, this deposit will be applied toward your appointment costs. If your provider donates their time and services, you may choose to donate your deposit to Help America Hear, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. If you prefer a refund in this case, simply request it and the full deposit will be returned to you.
We trust every applicant will honor the integrity of this program, and we are deeply grateful to those who help make it possible. Together, we are changing lives, one sound at a time.
How the Program Works
The Help America Hear Program is designed to support individuals who meet specific financial and medical criteria. Our application process carefully evaluates several factors to ensure hearing aids are provided to those with the greatest need.
Applicants are reviewed based on the following:
Annual gross household income, using eligibility tiers outlined in the application
Insurance coverage, including existing hearing aid benefits and required co pays
Financial assets, such as savings, investments, trusts, and retirement accounts
Severity of hearing loss, with eligibility requiring moderate to profound hearing loss
This structured evaluation allows us to deliver life changing hearing aids to qualified applicants while maintaining fairness and sustainability across the program. Our goal is to ensure financial barriers never prevent someone from experiencing better hearing and an improved quality of life.
