Celebrating the Distinguished Recipients of the 2022/23 Scholarship - Nurturing Academic Excellence for Students with Hearing Impairments
We're delighted to unveil the distinguished awardees of the Help America Hear Scholarship for the 2022/23 academic year. Conceived in 2011, this scholarship is a cornerstone of our educational initiatives. Over time, we have witnessed a consistent increase in applications, averaging 23 annual entries. The 2021/22 academic year broke records with 63 entries, and we are proud to acknowledge the receipt of 46 outstanding applications for the current academic year.
Our yearly scholarship, available nationwide, strengthens and uplifts hard-of-hearing high school seniors transitioning into their freshman year of college. A two-year matching grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) this year allows us to confer upon ten deserving students a $4,000 scholarship each, along with a pair of state-of-the-art Resound hearing aids (subject to an audiological evaluation and provide their current devices are at least three years old). This scholarship hinges on an essay penned by the students and evaluated by an independent panel convened by Help America Hear using an exhaustive point system.
This year, courtesy of GN Resound's generous support, we present ten total financial and hearing aid awards.
We remain steadfast in our belief in the transformational capacity of higher education and in creating an equal playing field for students with hearing loss. If you resonate with our vision of raising the standards, we cordially invite you to consider contributing to the Help America Hear Scholarship Fund.
